He is also survived by three sons, Ed Daugherty and wife Mindy, Apple Valley, California, and Bill Daugherty and wife Tracy, Milton Freewater, Oregon, and Donnie Daugherty of Birmingham, Alabama; three daughters, Marlene Hill and husband Rick, Clinton, Brenda Estrada and husband Chio, Yucaipa, California, Cindy Shelton and husband Harold, Appleton Valley; two brothers, Jim Daugherty and wife Jeanie, Clinton, and Frosty Daugherty of Clinton; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; stepchildren Mike Daugherty and wife Wendy, Windsor, Randy Daugherty and Jill, Lowry City, Rick Daugherty and wife Pam, Springfield, Jeff Daugherty and wife Lisa, Lowry City, Becky Etters and husband Bill, Odessa; 13 step-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy; his parents; two brothers, Harold and Norman Daugherty, and one sister, Veta Calvird.

It seems a bit odd for a husband to leave his wife right after marriage and wait 3 years to send for her. And although 1900 census implied married ca 1872, the attached 1910 census lists married 33 years [1877]. Perhaps Iowa records should be checked for their marriage (Marcus is in Cherokee County).
